2. Phoenix Rising

Written and arranged by Lance Ning and Shawn Engmann

Can you feel the winds are changing?
Through the darkness there comes a light.
Finally it’s raining and the drought is lifting,
What was barren is now full of life.
Everything had seemed to have crashed and burned down,
All the beauty had gone up in flames,
Terrified that it was all gone forever,
And that it would never be the same.

But I’m breathing again,
Seeing the light,
And I am realizing,
Up from the ash,
There is life,
There is a phoenix rising
Again.

The very same flames that consumed the world have
Transformed into a fire inside,
Emanating warmth and illumination,
Burning with a passion that grows stronger with time.
What was once a sign of darkness
Has now turned into a symbol of light,
Encouraging life and inspiration,
Overwhelmingly burning bright.

And I’m breathing again,
Seeing the light,
And I am realizing,
Up from the ash,
There is life,
There is a phoenix rising,

And it’s spreading its wings, and it’s ready to take flight
To come back to the world, to show us all its light...

And I’m breathing again,
Seeing the light,
And I am realizing,
Up from the ash,
There is life,
There is a phoenix rising again.
There is a phoenix rising again.
There is a phoenix rising again.
There is a phoenix rising again.

3. Fall To Pieces

Written by Lance Ning
Arranged by Lance Ning and Shawn Engmann

Why is there so much fighting?
Where did we go wrong?
Why can’t we have a peaceful conversation?
I’m sick of all this crying,
Each night feels so long.
I can’t go on through all this suffocation.
Why can’t I shake this feeling?
Why can’t I move on?
My heart is filled with all these empty spaces.
I want to start all over,
I want a new dawn.
But there are way too many complications.

Had the chance to have it all,
Something beautiful,
Had to go and let it fall
To pieces.
Always thought that something more
Was still possible,
Now my heart is on the floor,
In pieces.

I thought we’d make this right but
You think I’m all wrong,
But the reality is this ain’t working.
You make me want to run away
And just say, “So long,”
So I can put an end to all this hurting.

Had the chance to have it all,
Something beautiful,
Had to go and let it fall
To pieces.
Always thought that something more
Was still possible,
Now my heart is on the floor,
In pieces.

So I’ll swallow my pride,
And keep the pain inside,
And live to see another day.
And when the tears have dried,
At least I’ll know I tried
Before we let this fade away.

Had the chance to have it all,
Something beautiful,
Had to go and let it fall
To pieces.
Always thought that something more
Was still possible,
Now my heart is on the floor,
In pieces.

4. As Long As I Have You

Written and arranged by Lance Ning

How can I make it through the day
If I can’t last the hour?
I think I’m in over my head,
I don’t know what to do.
But every time I feel like I
Might let myself go under,
I reach out and you’re always there;
You always pull me through.

And when I’m struggling
To get through all the ups and downs,
You’re always there to help me
Get myself up off the ground.
And with you by my side,
There is nothing I can’t do.
I’ll get through anything
As long as I have you.

And when I bottle up inside
All my fears and frustrations,
You help me navigate the darkness,
You help me see the light.
And when you give me all your care,
Your love, your time, your patience,
You give me all the strength I need, and
I know I’ll be all right.

‘Cause when I’m struggling
To get through all the ups and downs,
You’re always there to help me
Get myself up off the ground.
And with you by my side,
There is nothing I can’t do.
I’ll get through anything
As long as I have you.

If it weren’t for you I don’t know where I’d be today.
I can’t tell you how much you have helped me find my way.

‘Cause when I’m struggling
To get through all the ups and downs,
You’re always there to help me
Get myself up off the ground.
And with you by my side,
There is nothing I can’t do.
I’ll get through anything
As long as I have you.

5.  To The Voice Inside My Head

Written and arranged by Lance Ning and Shawn Engmann

Hey you, I need you to listen to me.
Can you, for once, take me seriously?
I know that might be too much to ask of you.
I’m sick of all your words that fill my mind with doubt,
And I’m sick of constantly wondering about
If I will ever be good enough for you.

But despite the things you tell me,
I know that I am strong.
And I know you don’t believe in me,
But it’s time to prove you wrong.

That’s right, I’m not gonna let you hold me down.
That’s right, I’m not gonna let myself be drowned
By all of the awful things you put into my head…
Oh no, I don’t want or need your so-called help,
‘Cause I know I’m gonna start believing in myself,
And it is now time for you to get out of my head…

But despite the things you tell me,
I know that I am strong.
And I know you don’t believe in me,
But it’s time to prove you wrong.
Now I know that I don’t need you,
And the writing's on the wall,
So I'm moving on without you,
And I won't miss you at all.

Despite the things you tell me,
I know that I am strong.
And I know you don’t believe in me,
But it’s time to prove you wrong.
Now I know that I don’t need you,
And the writing's on the wall,
So I'm moving on without you,
And I won't miss you at all.

6.  Like Love Lost

Written by Lance Ning
Arranged by Lance Ning and Shawn Engmann

How can I say to you
What my heart wants me to?
The wordsmith in my mind,
Words, cannot find.
I’m trapped in these emotions,
I can’t escape.
Why have you left my side?
I’m so alone tonight.
Nothing left but your photos on the walls,
And empty halls.
This turmoil plagues my heart and
Won’t go away.

Where’d you go today?
I don’t know what to do.
Help me find my way,
I’m lost here without you.

You brightened every day,
Always knew what to say.
Cherished every moment spent with you,
But how time flew,
And now they’re somber memories
Of days I once knew.
You’d always be there for me,
You’d calm the stormy seas.
The storm is raging on,
But you are gone.
I’m sitting hopelessly here
Still waiting for you.

Where’d you go today?
I don’t know what to do.
Help me find my way,
I’m lost here without you.

I’ve lost all I knew, I’m wandering
Hopelessly and blue.
Tell me what to do, I can’t stand
Being without you.

Where’d you go today?
I don’t know what to do.
Help me find my way,
I’m lost here without you.
here’d you go today?
I don’t know what to do.
Help me find my way,
I’m lost here without you.

7.  Déjà Vu

Written and arranged by Lance Ning

Déjà vu, it's happening again.
My composure's hanging by a thread.
Awful thoughts flood through my head.
Cold and lonely, sleepless through the night,
Lost and wandering, searching for the light.
Will I ever be all right?
Will I ever be all right?

I am slipping into the darkness I once knew.
I don’t want to, I don’t want to…

Scared and angry, tell me how to feel.
So confused, I don’t know what is real.
Someone help my heart to heal.
Save me, tame the beast that lurks inside,
Crawling through the maze that is my mind.
Help me leave this pain behind.
Help me leave this pain behind.

I am slipping into the darkness I once knew.
I don’t want to, I don’t want to…

Help me, tell me what I need to hear.
Reassure me, take away my fear,
When I need you, you'll be there.
Hold me tightly, please don't let me go;
Your embrace has more power than you know.
Please don’t ever let me go.
Please don’t ever let me go.

I am slipping into the darkness I once knew.
I don’t want to, I don’t want to…
